More about your Instructor, Cydney Williams:

Cydney is a visual artist and a 200 hour certified Hatha yoga teacher based in Culver City. She works primarily as a painter while still experimenting with a variety of mediums and subjects to foster an ever-expanding practice. She explores themes of interconnectivity and balance between boundless nature and confined societal pressures of the modern world. Cydney works to bring the essence of the outdoors into the home; charging the interior with intimate embodied life and space of nature.

Williams first major show was at an exhibition in Pinta Art Fair during Art Basel, Miami in December 2018. She then went on to participate in Monira Foundation’s residency program (formally known as Mana Contemporary's artist residency) from May 2019 to Feb 2021 in Jersey City, NJ. Relocating from New Jersey to New Mexico in 2022, Cydney spent 6 months at the Radiate Light Residency in Eldorado, NM understanding the relationship between awe & ownership as well as exploration between the interconnection between home, freedom, and visitation of both people and land. In August 2022, Williams moved to Culver City, California, where she currently works and resides. She has shown in galleries in Los Angeles, New York City, Jersey City, Miami, and Burlington, VT.

Cydney’s passion for yoga began in her early teenage life and she has not stopped practicing since. In 2015, Cydney completed her 200 hours of Hatha yoga teacher training at the University of Vermont under the instruction of John McConnell. The eight month integrated program touched on all disciplines of yoga. In 2015, Cydney became a Lolë Brand Ambassador & teacher. Cydney taught at  Bhakti Barn when she was living in New Jersey from January of 2017 to January 2022.

Her classes focus on the spiritual component of meeting the mind and heart with the breath. With a focus on self-expression and following your inner teacher her classes are casual and playful. Her expression is fueled by her career as a full-time painter. She has a love for all areas of wellness and takes a special interest in Thai massage, Acro yoga, and Slackline yoga, in addition to specializing in private yoga classes.
