LOS ANGELES: Camille Claudel at the Getty, take 2 with ArtMuseLA

  • Getty Center 1200 Getty Center Drive Los Angeles, CA, 90049 United States (map)

Join fellow art-full Angelino’s as we partner again with ArtMuseLA for a private, guided tour of the groundbreaking exhibition “Camille Claudel” with art historian and curator Catherine Hess at the Getty Center on Saturday June 8th!

Although Claudel was one of late 19th-century France's most daring sculptors, outside her native country she is mainly known for her love affair with Rodin, struggles for acceptance in a man’s profession, and 30-year confinement in a psychiatric institution.

This brilliant exhibition rightly focuses on her enormous artistic talents which couple virtuosic mastery of medium with modernity of conception. Roughly 60 sculptures are on display, including a remarkable bronze in the Getty’s collection that is now presented in illuminating context.

After the 10:30 am tour, you have the option to join us for brunch at the Restaurant at the Getty Center, overlooking the Santa Monica mountains, at 12pm.

All tickets include reserved admission to the Getty as well as the private, guided tour with Catherine Hess. Full experience tickets also include 1 brunch entree + 1 non-alcoholic beverage + tax/tip at brunch.

The Women of Culture host/ point of contact is arts-enthusiast and Angelino Ritsa Panagis.
