An Evening of Monumental Public Art: Gallery Visit & Park Ave. Walk with Carole Feuerman

  • Galeries Bartoux 104 Central Park South New York, NY, 10019 United States (map)

More about Carole Feuerman:

Carole A. Feuerman, born in 1945, is an American sculptor of international renown. She is recognized, along with Duane Hanson and John D'Andrea, as one of the three great American hyperrealist sculptors who launched the movement in the 1970s.

For more than 60 years, the artist has explored classicism and beauty in her creations, subjects rarely emphasized in contemporary art.

Particularly inspired by the world of swimming, Carole A. Feuerman, has fun creating characters of swimmers. Through her hyper-realistic sculptures, she transposes the elegance of swimmers in the water and their graceful evolutions.

Feuerman insuflates her artwork with personality, sensuality and passion: while their outward appearance is often one of peaceful beauty, these elegant faces hide a deeper meaning of heroism, triumph and liberation.

SEA IDYLLS:

In the effervescence of New York, these emblematic swimmers, more real than life, will invite you to contemplate them for a moment. Exploring classicism and beauty in contemporary art, the pioneer of hyperrealism, is known for her lifelike “Swimmers” sculptures.

From her childhood memories of Jones Beach (Long Island) to the genesis of her creations, everything connects the artist to her love for water and New York City. “I love the mechanics of water and its presence as an enduring symbol of life.” says Feuerman.
